Environmental benefits of biodiesel

Biodiesel is made from renewable and sustainable resources therefore reducing the pressure on dwindling mineral oil supplies.

Burns up to 90% cleaner than conventional diesel fuel made from fossil fuels. Substantially reduces unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and particulate matter in exhaust fumes. Using biodiesel is a practical way that people and businesses can reduce their carbon footprint - the amount of carbon dioxide emitted as a result of energy used. Biodiesel is plant-based and adds almost no CO2 to the atmosphere. Sulphur dioxide emissions are eliminated (Biodiesel contains no sulphur)

Biodiesel also has a much higher flashpoint making it much less likely to ignite in a car wreck or spill and is the safest fuel to use, handle, and store

It’s also biodegradable and can be used for environmentally sensitive applications e.g. forestry and on waterways.
